For the third year in a row, Southwest Fox 2009 is held at the
beautiful Arizona Golf Resort and Conference Center in Mesa, a suburb of
Phoenix, Arizona. Arizona Golf Resort is just 30 minutes from the
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Information about the airport
is available at
http://phoenix.gov/aviation/.
You should arrive in Phoenix on Wednesday, October 14 if you plan to
attend any pre-conference sessions on Thursday. Otherwise, plan to
arrive in time for the keynote at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 15.
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport offers a variety of
transportation options. All
rental cars and rental car counters are located at the easily
accessible Rental Car Center. You can take a
taxi, limousine,
or van from the airport to the hotel.
The
Southwest Fox Transportation page on the FoxWiki can help you
coordinate transportation so you can find someone to share a cab or limo
with.
T&T Transportation
480-832-3483
You can have up to 4 people in a car for $45 direct to the hotel, and
the same back to the airport. Call to set up a reservation. They track
the planes so if your flight is running late they adjust.
They are also available to take people to restaurants or other venues
in the evenings (the conference center has a shuttle bus for this, but
it only runs until 7:00 p.m.). They have a set of vans, town cars, and
Suburbans to get people out and about. Typically it runs about $2.00 a
mile.
SuperShuttle
800-BLUE-VAN or 602-244-9000
You can register on the SuperShuttle site (http://www.supershuttle.com),
call to make a reservation, call when you arrive, or see the shuttle
coordinator. You might get a direct route or you may stop several times
depending on the other riders. Cost is $26.00 each way.
