Title: Extended VFP Application Data to a Mobile Device Presenter: Chris Franz, Systems Consultant Level: All Friday, October 15, 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 8:30 a.m.
Are your customers asking for mobile access to their VFP data? Do you need to start providing mobile access for a competitive edge? This session will cover how to extend your current VFP data to a mobile device. It will demonstrate how easy it is to allow concurrent DBF data access from your existing VFP application and a mobile device at the same time from virtually any mobile device using the IDE of your choice. There is no need to convert your data to allow DBF data access with mobile devices such as Blackberry, iPhone, Android, Windows Mobile, etc. all while allowing you the freedom to write the mobile application of your choice. Come see how!
Title: Visual FoxPro and Xbase++, a Comparison Presenter: Steffen F. Pirsig Level: Beginner Friday, October 15, 8:30 a.m.
This session is for any Visual FoxPro developer who feels comfortable with the VFP language in general or has made a significant investment into the VFP language but doesn't want to abandon his/her existing knowledge, investments and of course the power of the language itself. If you are interested in seeing how the xBase language beyond Visual FoxPro has evolved, this session is a must see for you!
Topics covered are:
This session is about Xbase++ as of today and is a perfect prerequisite for anybody attending the session about the "Visual Xbase++, the Next Generation Visual FoxPro".
Title: Visual Xbase++, the Next Generation Visual FoxPro Presenter: Steffen F. Pirsig Level: Beginner Sunday, October 17, 10:00 a.m.
In this session we will show for the first time how Alaska Software sees the future for Visual FoxPro developers. In 2008 and 2009, Alaska Software learned a lot about the VFP community's requirements and how the Visual FoxPro development tool is used. Since early 2010 a project team at Alaska Software started to work on the next-generation VFP tool-chain. Any VFP developer, looking for a way to continue with the existing knowledge and investments, should attend this session to learn more about our plans. It is recommended to those who have no idea about what Xbase++ is to attend the session "Visual FoxPro and Xbase++, a Comparison" as only then will the attendee really understand how far and beyond the product strategy of Alaska Software goes.
Alaska Software also wants to invite the VFP community to share its thoughts and actively criticize our strategy outline thereafter.

Title: FoxInCloud Presenter: Thierry Nivelet Level: Beginner Friday, October 15, 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 10:00 a.m.
FoxInCloud is a Visual FoxPro layer that enables your existing application to run on the Web, while continuing to operate as today with the very same code base.
We shall present FoxInCloud founding principles: HTML generation, events capture and server-side processing by the VFP form code, user state management, and UI updates on HTML page.
We'll review scope of class and events support and play with the FoxInCloud adaptation assistant, a very handy IDE tool to identify and easily adapt your code. You'll even be able to try it yourself during the session.
We'll see how long it takes to adapt an application and how this work can mitigate with your normal evolution tasks. We'll also discuss how your client can slide from your existing "LAN" version to the "FoxInClouded" version.
No doubt you'll have a lot of questions about FoxInCloud. We'll take time to answer each of them through examples and demos.
